"I realized I wanted to paint the outdoor life and horses. I knew those subjects well, and I knew I could paint them without cliches."

 

Born and raised in Marin County, California, Carol Peek attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for two years and UC Berkeley for a semester before transfering to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where she graduated with honors.

After a year and a half in Kansas City, Missouri working as an artist for Hallmark Cards, Carol moved back to Northern California to become a full-time painter. While the rural landscapes there still inspire most of her paintings, she now lives in Utah with her two children. She is represented by The North Point Gallery in San Francisco and The Red Piano in Hilton Head.
